Book Review: The Answer is a very good self-help book and has been written after a lot of research. Both Allan and Barbara Pease are masters of this field and have compiled a lot of practical information within these pages.

The book begins with an overview of RAS system and how it functions. The book is full of quotes that are well meaning and motivating but have been thrown around like confetti. Like most self-help books, The book is also full of real life anecdotes that all readers will be able to relate to. The Answer, however, doesn’t provide any ready-made answers and provides the path for you to be able to choose your own answers.

“The reason most people don’t accomplish much or have much in their lives is because they haven’t decided what they want.”

‘The Answer’ also provides a few exercises that must be acted upon like making a list of things one finds exciting in life. While there are some action points that may sound repetitive to habitual readers, much of the stuff within these pages is new and easy to understand. Allan and Barbara Pease have presented the book in a very simple and easy to understand format.

The book dwells upon many practical and everyday problems that we face each day such as visualising stuff.

The text is quite large and easy to read which is a welcome relief. However, this has also meant that the book is a bit bulky and not easy to carry around which is a shame as this is a book that you need to carry around and will come in handy again and again. Kindle readers may be at an advantage here even though I still prefer my paperbacks.

“Worry is the result of visualising the things you don’t want to happen- you visualise yourself dropping the ball, failing to clear the bar, the bank foreclosing your mortgage, or your partner leaving you for someone else.”

Right from a college going kid confused about a career path or an established career professional, ‘The Answer’ will be of use to almost all sections of readers. It emphasises the need to recognise fear but not be overwhelmed by it.
