BLOOMSBURY TO BEGIN ACADEMIC PUBLISHING IN INDIA IN 2019

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is to begin academic publishing in India with the first title publishing this year. R. Chandra Sekhar has joined as Publisher to start the publishing programme and will report toRajiv Beri, Managing Director, Bloomsbury Publishing India.

Bloomsbury’s Academic Division has grown rapidly over the past decade, and publishes internationally from Oxford, London and New York.   Bloomsbury India has established itself as a leading Trade publisher in India since it was established six years ago.  Now we are creating a new academic publishing programme in South Asia under Chandra Sekhar, alongside our Bloomsbury Professional lists.  This is part of Bloomsbury’s strategy to balance its consumer publishing interests with global academic and professional revenues.
